Good stories, targeted instruction, youth competitions, magazine shows, profiles, how-to's, and maybe even a cartoon or two. YoungRidersTV invites kids and the kid in all of us to learn more about horses and ponies, safety, riding and others who share the passion for all things horse. For a twelve-year old who wears britches while her friends are into bubble skirts, watching others her age excel in competition or profiled as they struggle in learning to ride can be both motivating and validating. For a five-year old who is interested in horses but nervous about getting close to one, watching another five-year old's first lesson on a lunge line may get his courage up. Horses are large, unpredictable and sometimes dangerous creatures. They're also beautiful and just plain fun. Learning how to develop a positive relationship with a horse or a pony (or a mule!) is a valuable lesson for a young rider to take home after closing the barn door.
